The KLEMA 250 Twin is an FDM 3D printer from KLEMA with a 230 x 250 x 370 mm build volume.

Specifications

The KLEMA 250 Twin is a semi-industrial FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) 3D printer designed around a Dual Extrusion system. Built on the core mechanical architecture of the KLEMA brand, this model is specifically targeted at manufacturing complex geometries that require soluble support structures (such as PVA or HIPS) or multi-material assemblies where rigid and elastomeric polymers must be combined within a single build process.

  • Technology: FDM/FFF (Fused Filament Fabrication) using 1.75 mm diameter filaments.
  • Build Volume: 230 × 250 × 370 mm. In single-extruder mode, the print head accesses the entire build plate.

Calibration

Achieving precise prints on the KLEMA 250 Twin requires careful calibration of the dual-nozzle alignment. Follow these 8 steps:

  • Mechanical Z-Offset Matching Between Nozzles:

If one nozzle is lower than the other, the inactive nozzle will drag through the printed layers of the active nozzle, causing print failures.

Procedure: Heat both nozzles to 200°C and the bed to 60°C. Level the bed using the primary (left) nozzle as the reference point.

Common defects

  • Hardware defects and mechanical weaknesses
  • Heavy Toolhead Assembly (Ghosting & Ringing): Mounting two complete extruders, stepper motors, and hotends on a single carriage significantly increases the toolhead mass. This higher inertia leads to ringing artifacts on the print surface at speeds above 55 mm/s. Solution: Lower the acceleration values in your slicer to 800–1000 mm/s². Ensure the X-axis linear rails are clean and lubricated.

What it is used for

Suitable Materials and Applications:

  • Complex Parts with Internal Overhangs: Ideal for printing intricate mechanical parts, such as enclosed gears or internal channels, using water-soluble PVA supports paired with PLA.
  • Multi-Material Parts: Suited for printing rigid brackets with integrated TPU gaskets or dampening pads in a single, uninterrupted print job.
