Light Engine (DLP)

The Core 530 uses a standard bottom-up DLP architecture with a UV LED projector. The native pixel size is 30 µm: the finest in the B9 Core Series, and among the top 5 for DLP printers under $10,000 as of 2017. Minimum layer thickness is 25 µm.

Build Volume

57 × 32 × 127 mm (XYZ). An extremely small XY footprint: purpose-built for jewellery, dental crowns/bridges (1–3 units), and hearing aid shells. The 127 mm Z-axis allows stacking of small parts or a 3-unit bridge in an upright orientation.

Calibrating the B9 Core 530

1. Build Table Levelling

Automated via B9Create: press 'Level Build Table', the machine tests PDMS compression and reports. If it fails (uneven compression), adjust corner bolts and retry. With a properly installed PDMS VAT this rarely needs repeating.

2. Exposure Time

B9Create includes pre-built profiles for all official B9 resins.

Common Defects on the B9 Core 530

Suction Cup Effect

Symptom: The part remains stuck to the VAT during lift. Cause: Vacuum in closed cavities. Fix: Tilt parts 10–15° during support placement; add drain hole in closed zones; reduce lift speed.

Undercure of Thin Features

Symptom: Pavé prongs or thin walls are brittle after washing. Cause: Insufficient dose for < 0.3 mm geometries or aggressive IPA washing.
