Technology and Light Source

The PICO 2 is a DLP (Digital Light Processing) photopolymer printer using a 385 nm UV LED: shorter wavelength than the mainstream 405 nm market, providing better compatibility with Asiga's castable and dental resin portfolio. The light engine uses the proprietary SAS (Safe Ambient Solvent) technology.

Optics

Equipped with precision all-glass optical elements (unlike the mixed plastic-glass construction common in competitors), delivering sharper projection with less chromatic aberration at the edges of the build platform.

Calibration

Calibration: Asiga PICO 2

• Single-point zero calibration: Install the build platform and run the automatic Home sequence in Asiga Composer. The machine finds zero Z via a single contact moment with the vat. Expected result: even first layer adhesion without tilt. Tip: do not manually tighten the platform bolts before calibration: let the machine self-zero.
• UV power measurement: Use the built-in light meter or Asiga UV calibration tool before any production run.

Suction Cup Effect (part detaches from vat)

With large cross-sectional areas (>~10 cm²), the negative pressure during FEP peel-off can pull the part off its supports. Cause: insufficient vacuum relief. Fix: add vent holes to the model (≥0.8 mm) or enable the anti-suction lift profile in Composer.

Under-cure (uncured resin)

Sticky surface after washing or collapsed thin walls indicate insufficient UV dose.
