SLA (Stereolithography)

the first 3D printing technology. UV laser scans resin in a VAT. excellent surface, fine detail.

SLA (Stereolithography) is the first commercial additive technology: a UV laser (375–405 nm) is scanned point by point across the surface of photopolymer resin in a VAT, curing one layer at a time. ISO/ASTM 52900 → VPP (Vat Photopolymerization).

SLA delivers the best combination of surface + detail at the desktop level: Ra 1–5 µm, 50 µm feature size. Ideal for prototyping (jewelry, dental, miniatures) and end-use parts with medical or optical function.
