Upgrades from the Base Tina2

The WEEDO Tina2S is an upgraded version of the popular Tina2 educational 3D printer. It retains the compact, plastic housing (open at the front and top) with a carrying handle and a weight of 3 kg. The Tina2S addresses the main drawbacks of the original model: the unheated bed, loud stepper motor noise, and limited connectivity. This model is designed for home users and schools looking for a plug-and-play machine with modern features.

Extruder and Quick-Release Hotend

The printhead utilizes a Bowden feed system with the extruder motor mounted to the back panel of the chassis.

Calibration

To maintain optimal print quality and wireless connectivity on the WEEDO Tina2S, use the following calibration procedures:

• Z-Offset Calibration on Heated PEI:

The PEI surface requires the nozzle height to be calibrated while the bed is hot to account for thermal expansion.

• Expected result: A flat first layer where individual PLA lines fuse together without gaps or nozzle scrapes.
• Tip: Heat the bed to 60°C and the nozzle to 200°C.

Common defects

• Hardware defects and mechanical weaknesses
• Pogo-Pin Connector Overheating:
• Symptoms: The plastic housing around the pogo-pin contacts melts, or the hotend fails to heat.
• Cause: High current running through the small contact pins for the 40W heater can cause localized heating if there is dust or high contact resistance.
• Solution: Periodically clean the pogo pins and mating pads.
