UnionTech RSPro 1400

The UnionTech RSPro 1400 is an SLA 3D printer from UnionTech with a 1400 x 700 x 500 mm build volume.

Laser and Optics

The RSPro 1400 uses a quad-laser configuration with four independent 355 nm UV lasers and galvanometric scanners, each covering one quadrant of the build area. Scan speed reaches up to 15 m/s. Accuracy is ±0.2 mm for small features and ±0.2% of span for larger geometries.

Platform

A marble Z-axis platform provides vibration isolation and thermal stability across the full 1400 mm span. Ball-screw Z drive ensures platform parallelism relative to the resin vat.

Build Volume

1400 × 700 × 500 mm: one of the largest commercially available SLA envelopes at time of launch (2018).

Calibration

Quad-Laser Stitching Calibration

Calibrate each of the four galvanometer scanners separately using a reference target plate: pay close attention to the overlap zones between quadrants. At 1400 mm span even a small mirror drift produces a visible seam. Perform after any laser module replacement or when room temperature changes by more than 3 °C.

Z-Levelling

Use six-point mechanical levelling with a dial indicator: target parallelism ≤0.05 mm across the full 1.4 m length.

Common defects

Stitching Seams on Parts

Cause: galvanometer drift or laser power mismatch between quadrants. Fix: full quad-laser calibration and power comparison.

Delamination on Thin Walls in the Centre of the Platform

Cause: excessive pull-off during separation or cold resin. Fix: increase exposure time by 5–10% and warm resin to 25–30 °C.

Warping of Long Parts

Cause: residual stresses in parts over 800 mm after removal.
