Specifications

3D Systems SLA 750: Technical Brief

Light Source / Laser

The SLA 750 uses a 355 nm solid-state UV laser. The base model features a single laser, while the flagship SLA 750 Dual employs two synchronized lasers: the world's first synchronous dual-laser SLA system, delivering up to three times the throughput of previous-generation SLA machines.

Optics / Scanner

A galvanometer scanner steers the beam across the XY plane to a precision of 0.0127 mm. In the Dual configuration, both beams must be precisely co-registered at the stitching boundary.

Platform

The build platform measures 750 × 750 mm: among the largest in production-grade SLA. Z-travel extends to 550 mm.

Calibration

SLA 750 Calibration Procedure

  • Chamber warm-up (30 min): allow full thermal equilibrium before calibration. Temperature directly affects resin viscosity and laser focus position. Expected: thermosensor readings stable within ±0.5 °C.
  • Laser power check: measure actual output at three points: centre and two corners of the vat. Expected: within ±5% of nominal. For Dual: discrepancy between the two lasers below 2%. If out of spec, inspect optical surfaces for contamination.

Common defects

Common SLA 750 Defects

Base warping: corners lifting on flat parts. Cause: residual cure stresses in the initial layers. Fix: add a raft and increase the base-layer count; tilt the part to reduce cross-sectional area.

Suction-cup delamination: layers separating from the platform when peeling off the vat floor. Most pronounced on large flat sections. Fix: tilt at 15–45°; add drain holes to hollow geometries; reduce peel speed.

What it is used for

Applications

Best suited for:

  • Full-scale aerospace and automotive prototypes: the 750 × 750 × 550 mm build volume accommodates parts impossible on smaller machines.
  • High-throughput service bureaus: the dual-laser version triples productivity.
  • Investment casting: Accura CastPro provides near-zero ash residue on burnout.
