The Koonovo Pyramid is an FDM 3D printer from Koonovo with a 300 x 300 x 400 mm build volume.

Specifications

The Koonovo Pyramid (commonly marketed as the Creativity Pyramid A1.1 Titan) is a large-format DIY desktop FDM 3D printer based on a modified Cartesian (i3) architecture. The name "Pyramid" refers to the diagonal support struts that connect the top of the Z-axis gantry to the front and back of the base frame. This creates a rigid triangular support structure (similar to a pyramid) that stabilizes the frame and reduces gantry vibrations when printing tall structures.

Calibration

To achieve accurate geometry and smooth surface finishes on the Koonovo Pyramid, follow these 8 calibration steps:

• Frame Perpendicularity Alignment (Squaring the Frame):

During assembly, the Z-axis gantry must be aligned at exactly 90 degrees relative to the Y-axis base frame.

Procedure: Place a machinist's square between the vertical Z-frame and the horizontal Y-base extrusions.

Common defects

• Hardware defects and mechanical weaknesses
• Y-Axis Ringing (Inertia Artifacts): The heavy glass bed moves back and forth on the Y-axis. Sudden direction changes cause vibrations. Symptoms: Ripples near corners and holes on the Y-axis print surfaces. Solution: Limit the outer perimeter print speed to 35–40 mm/s and cap Y-axis acceleration to 800 mm/s² in the slicer.
