The Hyper S is an FDM 3D printer from Mixware with a 300 x 300 x 400 mm build volume.

Specifications

The Mixware Hyper S is a high-performance desktop FDM 3D printer engineered as a versatile, "do-it-all" solution. It is designed to handle a broad range of filaments, from standard plastics to high-temperature engineering-grade polymers. The machine is distinguished by its robust semi-enclosed design, stable kinematics, and an advanced extrusion system optimized for long, demanding print jobs.

  • Build volume: Generous print envelope measuring 300 × 300 × 400 mm. This large capacity enables users to print big, single-piece functional parts, production enclosures, and large architectural models without the need to cut and glue separate pieces together.

Calibration

The Mixware Hyper S requires a structured calibration approach to unlock its full potential, particularly when processing advanced engineering polymers.

  • PEI Magnetic Build Plate Cleaning with IPA: Wipe down the build sheet with 99% isopropyl alcohol (IPA) before every print. The PEI surface is highly sensitive to skin oils, which significantly compromise first-layer adhesion.

Common defects

  • Hardware defects and mechanical weaknesses
  • Symptom: Recurrent hotend clogging when attempting to print low-temp PLA after a high-temperature run (e.g., with Nylon).
  • Cause: High-temp material residue remains in the hotend and does not melt at lower PLA temperatures, creating a partial block.
  • Solution: Use a specialized cleaning filament at 260°C or perform multiple "cold pulls" with Nylon before swapping to PLA.

What it is used for

Best use-cases:

  • Engineering Prototyping: With its 350°C hotend and 120°C bed, the Hyper S is excellent for printing functional, high-strength parts from Nylon, Polycarbonate, and carbon-fiber filled composites.
  • Large-scale Housings: The 300x300x400 mm volume is ideal for manufacturing larger electronics enclosures, dashboard components, and mechanical jigs.
