Specifications

FlashForge Hunter DLP: Technical Sheet

Light Source

Full HD 1080p (1920 × 1080 px) DLP light engine at 405 nm. The projector module delivers a high-definition UV image: each projected pixel corresponds to ~63 µm in X and Y across the 120 × 67 mm build area.

Optics

DLP projector module with fixed focus delivering uniform UV dose across the build plate. No documented Fresnel correction: testing shows good uniformity in the center with mild fall-off at edges.

Build Platform

Metal build plate with manual 4-bolt leveling. Aluminum resin tray with pre-installed FEP for easy maintenance: standard practice for prosumer DLP printers of the late 2010s.

Chamber / Environment.

Calibration

Calibration for the FlashForge Hunter DLP

1. Vat Leveling

The aluminum vat has a pre-installed FEP: no additional film tensioning required. 4-bolt build plate leveling. Place 0.1 mm paper on the vat bottom and tighten bolts with even contact resistance. Expected result: Paper slides without localized tight spots. Tip: Re-level after every vat replacement.

2. Layer Thickness Selection

In FlashDLPrint, select 12.5, 25, or 50 µm.

Common defects

Common Defects on the FlashForge Hunter DLP

FEP Adhesion (Sticking)

The part adheres to the FEP bottom and detaches from supports. Cause: excessive exposure or aged FEP. Reduce Bottom Layers to 4-5; check FEP for cloudiness; reduce lift speed to 40 mm/min.

XY Dimensional Error

XY accuracy is constrained by physical pixel pitch (~63 µm with 1920 pixels over 120 mm). Z resolution (12.5 µm) significantly exceeds XY.

What it is used for

Use Cases for the FlashForge Hunter DLP

Optimal Applications

  • Dental technology: Open 405 nm system and layers down to 12.5 µm make Hunter ideal for surgical guides, splints, crowns, and orthodontic models. Supports dental resins from Nextdent, BEGO, and Detax.
  • Jewelry: 12.5 µm minimum layer and smooth surfaces with castable resins enable high-quality investment casting.
