Today, we analyze the pinnacle of the Fused Form Corp line – the Fused Form FF600plus Doppia (also designated as the FF-600+ Doppia). This machine represents the integration of the two most challenging engineering concepts in industrial FFF 3D printing: a 600 mm print scale combined with dual-material printing at high temperatures up to 450°C.

Calibration

Working at extreme temperatures (nozzle at 400°C and bed at 130°C) with dual materials requires flawless mechanical setup. Differences in thermal expansion between the two hotends can cause the idle nozzle to collide with the print.

• System heat soaking (System Heat Soak):
• Procedure: Before taking any bed leveling measurements, heat the nozzles to 250°C and the bed to 120°C. Close the door and let the machine sit for 30 minutes.

Common defects

• Hardware defects and mechanical weaknesses
• Extruder motor overheating: The passive chamber temperature of 70°C, combined with the heat generated by the dual direct-drive motors, can cause motor temperatures to exceed 100°C. This softens the filament inside the drive gears, causing feeding to stop. Solution: Install cooling fans on the extruder motors or use high-temperature Class H stepper motors.
