Eplus3D EP-A450

The Eplus3D EP-A450 is an SLA 3D printer from Eplus3D with a 450 x 450 x 350 mm build volume.

Laser: 355 nm UV laser (Nd:YVO4 type); power sufficient for a 450×450 mm zone with VarioBeam optical system.

Optics/Scanner: Patented VarioBeam optics dynamically switch beam diameter, fine beam for edges and details, wide beam for fast fill, within the same layer pass. Autofocus maintains facula ≤ 0.15 mm across the full platform.

Platform: Dense marble Z-axis substrate for vibration isolation and repeatability; machine weight > 700 kg.

Build Volume: 450 × 450 × 350 mm: mid-tier in the EP-A series (EP-A350 / EP-A450 / EP-A650 / EP-A800).

Accuracy: ±0.08 mm: tighter than most competitors in the class.

Calibration

VarioBeam calibration: Detail and fill modes individually; dual-zone test part every 500 hours.

Z-platform levelling: 5 points; digital level; deviation < 0.03 mm.

XY accuracy: 100×100 mm square + 10 mm holes; tolerance ±0.08 mm.

Jacob's test: Required for every new resin batch.

Power uniformity: 9-point photodetector test; variation < 5%.

Common defects

VarioBeam halo effect: Incomplete mode transition → recalibrate optics; reduce fill-overlap near edge zones.

Suction-cup delamination: Drain holes + slow lift + angled orientation.

Under-cure: Jacob's test; laser power check; replace aged resin.

Warping: Post-cure at 45°C; orientation optimisation.
