ETEC Envision One cDLM: Technical Overview
Light Engine / cDLM Technology
The Envision One cDLM uses a DLP projector paired with an oxygen-permeable vat bottom (CLIP-like principle) that maintains a continuous inhibition zone of liquid resin between the window and the curing part. This eliminates the mechanical pull-apart cycle between layers typical of conventional bottom-up DLP.
Build Volume
180 × 101 × 85 mm: compact, optimised for dental and small engineering parts. Accommodates 6 full orthodontic arch models per run.
Speed
Up to 45 mm/hr in cDLM mode: significantly faster than step-by-step DLP at equivalent resolution.

Calibration: ETEC Envision One cDLM
Platform Levelling
Zero the Z-axis and verify parallelism < 0.05 mm after each platform or vat change.
Inhibition Zone Inspection
Inspect the FEP/oxygen-permeable window for cloudiness or contamination: a fouled window disrupts the inhibition layer and causes delamination.
UV Profile for Material
Load the ETEC Material Profile for the specific resin; do not manually edit parameters without manufacturer data.
Vat Warm-Up.
Common Defects: ETEC Envision One cDLM
Undercure (Soft Surfaces)
Cause: fouled inhibition window or wrong material profile. Fix: clean/replace window; load correct profile.
Warping of Thin-Walled Parts
Cause: excessive UV energy at small cross-sections. Fix: reduce UV intensity; post-cure in UV oven at controlled temperature.
Part Sticking to Vat
Cause: insufficient over-cure on base layers. Fix: increase base layer exposure; clean the build platform.
Use Cases, ETEC Envision One cDLM
Orthodontic Dental Laboratories
6 arches in under 15 minutes, cDLM is the de facto throughput standard for medium-to-large dental production workflows.
Engineering Functional Prototypes
Henkel Loctite and Covestro engineering resins provide ABS-like and flexible mechanical properties for fit-and-form testing.
