Asiga Ultra

The Asiga Ultra is a DLP 3D printer from Asiga with a 189 x 106 x 130 mm build volume.

Specifications

Light Engine: DLP projector at 385 nm with a 4K light matrix; two configurations: Ultra (32) at 32 µm pixel pitch (119 × 67 × 130 mm build volume) and Ultra (50) at 50 µm (189 × 106 × 130 mm).

Optics: 4K imaging mode with touchless resin entry to prevent contamination during material loading; fixed-focus optics for the selected configuration.

Platform: Metal build platform with a magnetic holder for tool-free quick-swap without screws or levers.

SPS (Smart Positioning System): Active layer-separation force monitoring; adaptive real-time Z-speed control.

Resin Heating: Infrared heater to 70°C: enables use of temperature-sensitive speciality resins.

Calibration

Z-Zero: Wizard in Asiga Composer at each platform or resin change.

Configuration (32 vs 50): Physical optical module swap: not dynamic. Choose (32) only when critical detail is needed.

IR Heating: Set target resin temperature (28–35°C standard, up to 70°C for high-viscosity).

SPS Verification: Automatic: check Composer log for anomalous force peaks.

Resin Qualification: Check Asiga Materials Database first; use exposure matrix for a new resin.

Common defects

Suction Cup / FEP Adhesion: Tilt the part; SPS adapts Z-speed automatically.

Under-cure: Increase base exposure time; verify Materials Database profile.

Warping in Flat Parts: Tilt 15–45°; avoid over-curing during post-cure.

Tacky Surface: Extend post-cure time; improve IPA wash quality.
