Creality CR-M4

The Creality CR-M4 is an FDM 3D printer from Creality with a 300 x 300 x 400 mm build volume.

Calibration

• Initial Bed Leveling with BLTouch
• Description: Begin by ensuring the BLTouch sensor is securely mounted and the firmware is updated. Use the printer’s touchscreen to initiate the auto-leveling routine. The BLTouch will probe the bed at 10–15 points, adjusting the Z-axis height to create a flat plane.
• Expected result: The nozzle should hover 0.1–0.2mm above the bed surface at all probed points.

Common defects

• Hardware defects and mechanical weaknesses
• Symptom: The Z-axis motor occasionally skips steps during high-speed prints, causing layer misalignment.
• Cause: The default firmware limits acceleration to 10,000 mm/s², but users pushing higher speeds may exceed the motor’s torque capacity.
• Solution: Reduce acceleration or upgrade to a NEMA 17 motor with a higher torque rating.
