Released in 2021, this machine focuses on the concept of "Smart Printing," integrating wireless network connectivity, remote cloud management, automated leveling, and safety features. While it introduced many advanced capabilities, it requires specific technical attention due to the complexity of its software and hardware components.

• Hotend: The printer uses a modified Bowden style hotend with a maximum print temperature of 260°C. Powered by a 24V system, it heats up quickly and maintains stable temperatures.

Calibration

To ensure smooth operation and prevent leveling and connection issues on the Creality CR-10 Smart, follow these 8 calibration steps:

• Strain Gauge Sensor Preparation: Because the strain gauge sensor relies on direct nozzle-to-bed contact, any plastic residue on the nozzle tip will act as a cushion, triggering the sensor early and ruining the bed mesh.
• Expected result: An accurate 16-point bed mesh and prevention of nozzle crashes into the glass.

Common defects

• Hardware defects and mechanical weaknesses
• Strain Gauge Sensor Drift and Deformation: The metal mounting plate for the strain gauge sensor is delicate. If the nozzle crashes into the bed or if the nozzle is tightened with too much force without counter-holding, the plate bends.
• Symptoms: The nozzle crashes into the glass during homing, Z-offset values drift significantly between prints, or the leveling fails with error codes.
