The Cambrian Pro E175 is an FDM 3D printer from AtomStack with a 235 x 235 x 250 mm build volume.

Specifications

The AtomStack Cambrian Pro E175 is the more compact and desk-friendly FDM 3D printer from AtomStack’s modular line, released in 2021. Designed to address the limitations of budget Cartesian printers, it shares the dual Z-axis architecture and swappable toolhead ecosystem of the larger Cambrian Max but features a smaller footprint similar to standard Ender-3 class machines. The E175 model signifies that the printer comes equipped with the toolhead designed specifically for standard 1.75mm filament.

  • Hotend: Direct drive dual-gear extruder integrated into a compact, swappable toolhead housing.

Calibration

To calibrate the E175 head on the Cambrian Pro chassis for peak quality, perform these 8 essential tuning steps:

  • Vertical Gantry Alignment and Belt Synchronization

Due to manual assembly or transport vibrations, the X-axis carriage gantry can fall out of parallel with the base. Loosen the Z-motor shaft coupler screws. Place two identical blocks under the left and right sides of the X-axis frame profile, and rotate the lead screws manually until the profile rests flat on both blocks.

Common defects

  • Hardware defects and mechanical weaknesses
  • Ribbon Cable Fatigue (FFC/FPC Failure): The flat ribbon cable connecting the mainboard to the print head undergoes constant flexing. Over time, this leads to metal fatigue, breaking the inner copper traces. Symptoms include intermittent connection, thermal runaway errors (reading -15 °C), or print failures.
  • Solution: Print and install a cable guide chain to support the ribbon cable.

What it is used for

Best Use-Cases

  • Detailed Prototypes and Figurines in PLA: The E175 head and direct drive make it ideal for printing high-detail models, decorative items, and architectural models.
  • Functional Enclosures and Brackets: Great for printing custom electronics boxes, brackets, and structural plates out of PETG or PLA.
