• Hotend: Patented Builder Dual-Feed system. Two separate extruders push two 1.75 mm filaments into a single, shared heating block and nozzle. Standard nozzle size is 0.4 mm brass.

Calibration

The unique Dual-Feed extruder of the Builder Premium Large requires specific calibration steps to prevent the two filaments from colliding or jamming within the shared heating chamber. Follow these 8 steps:

• Dual-Feed Feed Sync Calibration: Both extruder motors must push filament with equal force. If one motor pushes harder than the other during color mixing, it will force the inactive filament back up its feed tube (reflux).

Common defects

• Hardware defects and mechanical weaknesses
• Nozzle Jams with Dissimilar Materials: The most common failure occurs when printing materials with different melting points (e.g., PLA at 210°C and PVA at 190°C). If PVA remains in the nozzle chamber at 210°C for too long, it degrades, carbonizes, and jams the nozzle. Solution: Limit nozzle temperature to 195°C–200°C when mixing PLA and PVA, and use compatible filament brands.
