Specifications

The eMotionTech Strateo3D IDEX420 Duplicate is not a standalone physical printer, but a virtual machine configuration profile and operating mode for the Strateo3D IDEX420 industrial 3D printing system. This mode is designed specifically for batch production, allowing the simultaneous printing of two identical parts on opposite halves of the build plate, effectively doubling the production rate per unit of time.

• Build volume: In duplication mode, the printable X-axis space is halved to 210 × 320 × 400 mm for each toolhead.

Calibration

Achieving success with duplication printing requires matching the physical and thermal parameters of both extruders. Minor mechanical or setting deltas will manifest as print defects on one of the parts.

• Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) Bed and Nozzle Cleaning: Clean the borosilicate glass plate thoroughly with 99% IPA. Ensure both nozzle tips are free of plastic residue or carbonized buildup.

Common defects

• Hardware defects and mechanical weaknesses
• Symptom: The left part has a perfect first layer, but the right nozzle scrapes the glass or prints too high.
• Cause: Mechanical tilt of the glass bed along the X-axis or incorrect relative Z-offset calibration.
• Solution: Re-run the relative Z-offset calibration and check X-gantry alignment relative to the bed using a dial indicator.
• Symptom: Dimensional variations between the two parts along the X-axis.

Best use-cases:

• Batch Production of Small Parts: Excellent for manufacturing hundreds of small brackets, clips, gears, and jigs. Duplication mode halves production time.
