Calibration

  • Start with a full mechanical health check before any slicer tuning.

Action: Power off the printer, move the effector by hand through the full delta workspace, and feel for play in every direction: up, down, left, right, forward, and back. Check each pulley set screw, belt path, carriage, and rod end for looseness. Confirm that the carriages glide smoothly and that the belts have similar tension on all three towers.

Common defects

  • Backlash-driven surface defects: Users reporting persistent poor quality after calibration were advised to check for backlash, pulley looseness, carriage wobble, and belt tension imbalance; the symptom set can include ghosting, inconsistent wall widths, and inaccurate dimensional behavior. Cause: Delta kinematics amplify mechanical play across the full radius of motion.

What it is used for

  • Large-format vertical prints: The Predator’s standout strength is its very tall delta build volume, which makes it well suited to v
