Photon Mono M7 Max

The Photon Mono M7 Max is an LCD 3D printer from Anycubic with a 300 x 163 x 280 mm build volume.

Light Engine

13.6-inch monochrome 7K LCD panel (6480×3600 pixels) with a 405 nm UV LED matrix. XY resolution is 46 µm: sufficient for consumer resin printing but coarser than 8K competitors at 28 µm.

Optics / Illumination

Parallel LED array with matte diffuser for even intensity across the full 300×163 mm area. Monochrome panel passes light ~5× faster than RGB screens, reducing layer time to 1-2 s.

Platform

Perforated aluminium build plate (300×163 mm) with automatic levelling. Dual linear Z-rails ensure stable vertical travel over the 280 mm stroke.

Build Volume

300 × 163 × 280 mm: largest consumer MSLA in Anycubic's 2024 lineup (~13.7 L theoretical envelope).

Calibration

Levelling

M7 Max features automatic levelling. Verify platform position after replacing the release film.

Exposure Matrix Test

Due to the 46 µm pixel and specific LED power, run a calibration matrix (AmeraLabs Town or UVtools) with every new resin batch.

Release Film Check

The large 300×163 mm platform area generates high peel forces. Inspect the nFEP/FEP film every ~20 operating hours; replace when hazy or pinholed.

Common defects

Suction / Delamination

Large XY area is the primary risk. Solution: drainage holes ≥3 mm, lift speed ≤2 mm/s, increased rest time.

Undercure

Cause: short exposure, aged resin, or contaminated LCD. Solution: fresh Exposure Matrix test, replace resin if in doubt.

Warping

Thin parts distort during post-processing if resin is cold. Solution: warm resin to 25-30°C before printing, even UV cure (avoid direct sunlight).

Layer Lines

Caused by vibration or loose Z-axis.
