The XYZprinting da Vinci Pro EVO is an FDM 3D printer from XYZprinting with a 200 x 200 x 200 mm build volume.

Specifications

The XYZprinting da Vinci Pro EVO represents the pinnacle of desktop FDM/FFF 3D printing engineering from the Taiwanese manufacturer XYZprinting. Unlike earlier models that struggled with mechanical compromises and closed software ecosystems, the Pro EVO is constructed as a semi-professional machine with reinforced hardware. It is optimized for engineering-grade polymers and composite materials (such as carbon-fiber-reinforced filaments). Featuring an open filament system, automated bed leveling, and high extrusion temperatures, the printer offers professional capabilities, but its complex electronics and proprietary firmware require detailed technical understanding.

Calibration

Achieving clean prints on the XYZprinting da Vinci Pro EVO requires mastering its automated leveling system and managing the Direct Drive extruder for technical materials. Follow these eight calibration steps:

  • Z-Offset and Auto-Leveling Calibration: Heat the nozzle to 200°C and clean the tip of any plastic residue. Run the auto-leveling process from the touch screen. Once completed, use a 0.1 mm feeler gauge to adjust the Z-offset in the center of the bed.

Common defects

  • Hardware defects and mechanical weaknesses
  • Motherboard Overheating in Enclosed Chamber: When printing high-temperature materials like ABS or Nylon, the heat generated inside the enclosed chamber transfers to the electronics compartment below.
  • Symptoms: Random layer shifts along the X or Y axis, printer stops mid-print without an error message, or stepper drivers overheat and fail.

What it is used for

  • Industrial Prototyping with Composites: With the 300°C hotend and hardened nozzle, the Pro EVO is suited for printing structural parts from PETG-CF, Nylon-CF, and ABS-CF.
  • Examples: Brackets, robotic limbs, tool housings, and functional fixtures.
