Educational Design and Frame Rigidity

The WEEDO Tina2 is an ultra-compact Cartesian FDM 3D printer designed for children, hobbyists, and classroom environments. The printer arrives fully assembled in a plastic housing that covers three sides of the mechanism. With dimensions similar to a kitchen toaster and a total weight of only 3 kg, it features a carrying handle on the top for easy transport. Cable harnesses and stepper motors are enclosed inside the plastic housing panels, reducing the risk of pinched fingers or accidental burns for young users.

Calibration

To maintain reliable print quality and mechanical stability on the WEEDO Tina2, use the following calibration steps:

• Z-Offset Alignment and First-Layer Squish:

Although the printer features auto-leveling, the user must calibrate the Z-offset to set the correct first-layer height.

• Expected result: The nozzle sits approximately 0.1 mm above the magnetic sheet, allowing the first layer to adhere without scraping the bed surface.

Common defects

• Hardware defects and mechanical weaknesses
• Pogo-Pin Electrical Connection Failures:
• Symptoms: The printer resets mid-print, or displays "Thermal Runaway" and "Nozzle Temp Error" messages when the carriage moves along the X-axis.
• Cause: The spring-loaded pogo pins on the back of the quick-change hotend lose contact with the receiving PCB due to vibrations or dust.
