Calibration

Achieving precise engineering tolerances on the Duplicator 6 requires following a careful, step-by-step calibration sequence:

• Manual Z-Stop and Z-Offset Mechanical Calibration: Before leveling the bed, the physical Z-axis endstop switch at the rear of the machine must be adjusted using the threaded thumbscrew.
• Expected result: The bed stops exactly 1 mm below the nozzle tip when a `Home` command is executed, preventing any risk of nozzle-to-bed collision.

• Hardware defects and mechanical weaknesses
• Ribbon Cable Track Failure: The printhead heater and thermistor wires are routed through a flat ribbon cable. Continuous bending during printing cycles fractures the fine copper traces, leading to `heater error` messages or thermal drops. Solution: Replace the ribbon cable with a high-flex silicone wire harness routed through a drag chain, or secure it with flexible plastic wire guides.
