Specifications

Among the global community of delta-style 3D printing enthusiasts, the Rostock Max series from American manufacturer SeeMeCNC has achieved legendary status. The SeeMeCNC Rostock Max V3.2 represents a refined iteration of this classic open-air delta design, combining a highly modifiable chassis layout with modern 32-bit electronics and automated bed calibration capabilities.

  • Hotend: This model features the SeeMeCNC SE300 all-metal hotend (with earlier batches utilizing the HE280 hotend with integrated accelerometer).

Calibration

Assembling the Rostock Max V3.2 DIY kit requires patience. Once mechanical assembly is complete, follow these eight steps to calibrate the delta kinematics:

  • Cheapskate Carriage Adjustment:
  • Process: Each Cheapskate carriage features eccentric nuts that adjust the distance between the plastic rollers and the channels of the aluminum extrusions. If the carriage is too loose, it will wobble; if it is too tight, it will bind and strain the stepper motors.

Common defects

  • Hardware defects and mechanical weaknesses
  • Symptom: Play in the carbon fiber arm linkages.
  • Cause: The plastic ball joints on the carbon fiber rods wear out over time, causing mechanical play. This leads to dimensional inaccuracy and drifting bed calibration.
  • Solution: Replace the linkages or add small tension springs between adjacent arms to pull them together, eliminating backlash.
  • Symptom: Cheapskate roller flat spots and debris accumulation.

What it is used for

Best use-cases

  • Educational Spaces: Great for schools and maker spaces to teach students about parallel robotics and non-Cartesian coordinate motion.
  • Tall Vases and Art Pieces: The 385 mm build height is excellent for vase-mode decorative prints.
  • General Prototyping: Good for printing large structural mockups in PLA and PETG.

Anti-cases.
