The Rigid3D 3. Nesil is an FDM 3D printer from Rigid3D with a 200 x 200 x 200 mm build volume.

Specifications

The Rigid3D 3. Nesil (Third Generation) represents a significant evolutionary step for the Turkish manufacturer, featuring a completely redesigned chassis and hotend system. This machine is optimized for higher reliability when printing engineering-grade polymers, replacing several legacy components from the 2nd Generation with modernized mechanical solutions.

  • Hotend: The primary upgrade in the 3rd Generation is the integration of a custom-designed all-metal extruder hotend. The maximum operating temperature of the nozzle reaches 280°C, enabling work with advanced polymers without the risk of thermal degradation of PTFE liners, as no PTFE elements are present in the melt zone.

Calibration

To calibrate and maintain the Rigid3D 3. Nesil correctly, follow these steps:

  • All-Metal Hotend PID Tuning: Because the all-metal hotend has different thermal characteristics than PTFE-lined designs, PID parameters must be calibrated for higher printing temperatures. Connect the printer to a PC and send: `M303 E0 S250 C8` (targeting 250°C for engineering materials over 8 cycles). Input the new Kp, Ki, and Kd values using `M301 P[Kp] I[Ki] D[Kd]` and save using `M500`.

Common defects

  • Hardware defects and mechanical weaknesses
  • All-Metal Hotend Heat Creep Clogs: Because the heatbreak is all-metal, heat travels upward from the heater block to the heatsink more easily.
  • Symptoms: Extrusion stops after 10–15 minutes when printing PLA. The filament softens early and jams in the cold zone.
  • Cause: Inadequate heatsink cooling (weak or dirty fan) or printing at very slow speeds with high hotend temperatures.

What it is used for

Recommended Applications

  • Engineering Polymer Printing (PETG, Nylon, Polycarbonate, ASA): The 280°C all-metal hotend and fast AC heated bed make this machine excellent for producing durable functional parts.
  • Abrasive Composites: Once upgraded with a hardened steel nozzle, it prints Carbon Fiber-Nylon and glass-filled polymers without mechanical degradation.
