The Rigid3D 2. Nesil is an FDM 3D printer from Rigid3D with a 200 x 200 x 200 mm build volume.

Specifications

The Rigid3D 2. Nesil (Second Generation) is a Turkish-designed, semi-professional FDM 3D printer built for heavy-duty desktop manufacturing and engineering prototyping. Unlike typical consumer-grade machines, the 2nd Generation Rigid3D uses unique industrial components, particularly regarding Z-axis motion and its high-voltage heated bed configuration.

  • Hotend: Equipped with a single extruder, typically utilizing a direct-drive or short Bowden setup depending on the sub-revision. The stock hotend features a 40W heater cartridge and a 100K NTC thermistor, capable of reaching temperatures up to 260°C. The standard heatbreak contains a PTFE liner, limiting continuous printing to 240°C.

Calibration

The unique mechanical architecture of the Rigid3D 2. Nesil (220V AC bed and 1605 ball screw) requires a specific calibration routine:

  • Chassis Grounding and SSR Verification: Because the printer utilizes a 220V AC heater directly under the aluminum bed plate, verifying electrical safety is essential. Use a digital multimeter to measure the resistance between the bare metal frame of the printer and the ground pin of the AC power cord plug. The resistance must be less than 0.5 ohms.

Common defects

  • Hardware defects and mechanical weaknesses
  • AC Heater Cable Strain and Failure Risk: The 220V AC silicone heater is attached directly to the underside of the moving aluminum bed plate.
  • Symptoms: Ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) or RCD in the building trips instantly when the bed heater is turned on, or a tingling sensation is felt when touching the printer's metal frame.

What it is used for

Recommended Applications

  • Rapid Functional Prototyping: The extremely fast bed heat-up times minimize preheating wait times, making the printer ideal for fast-paced engineering iterations.
  • Precision Tall Vertical Prints: Thanks to the heavy-duty 1605 Z-axis ball screw, the printer produces tall mechanical components with highly repeatable layer stacking and zero Z-banding.
