The Renkforce Pro 3 is an FDM 3D printer from Renkforce with a 200 x 200 x 150 mm build volume.

Specifications

The Renkforce Pro 3 (model number RF-4318370) is a desktop FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) 3D printer constructed inside a semi-enclosed metal frame. It is tailored for hobbyists, educational STEM environments, and small engineering labs seeking an affordable platform for printing basic polymer parts.

  • Hotend: The printer features a single-extruder hotend with a maximum operating temperature of 260°C. Mechanically, it uses a PTFE-lined heatbreak design, meaning the Bowden Teflon tube runs all the way down to the nozzle throat. This design severely limits continuous high-temperature printing.

Calibration

Achieving consistent, high-quality results on the Renkforce Pro 3 requires a precise calibration routine. Follow this engineering guide:

  • Build Plate Preparation: Clean the flexible magnetic spring steel plate thoroughly using 99% Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) before every print. Apply the IPA to a lint-free microfiber cloth and wipe in circular motions. Avoid rubbing alcohol or denatured alcohol with additives, as they leave oily films.

Common defects

  • Hardware defects and mechanical weaknesses
  • PTFE Liner Heat Creep Clogs: The stock hotend design routes the Bowden PTFE tube directly into the heating block against the nozzle throat.
  • Symptoms: Extrusion suddenly stops 30–45 minutes into a print, accompanied by clicking noises from the extruder motor. The filament swells up just above the nozzle throat and jams.
  • Cause: Inadequate heat sink cooling (weak cooling fan) paired with high print temperatures.

What it is used for

Recommended Applications

  • PLA and Composite PLA Printing: The printer performs exceptionally well with PLA, PLA+, Silk PLA, and Wood composites. The passive enclosure protects prints from drafts, and the local cooling fan handles detailed layers and overhangs effectively.
