MINI+

The MINI+ is an FDM 3D printer from Prusa Research with a 180 x 180 x 180 mm build volume.

Specifications

Hotend: The Prusa MINI+ features an all-metal hotend utilizing a Bowden system with 3:1 gearing . It supports a maximum nozzle temperature of 280 °C (536 °F) .

Bed: It is equipped with a magnetic heatbed that uses removable spring steel sheets, available in smooth PEI, textured, and satin surface finishes [1, 4-6]. The heatbed can reach a maximum temperature of 100 °C (212 °F) .

Chamber: Out of the box, the MINI+ is an open-frame printer without an enclosed or actively heated chamber .

Build Volume: The printer offers a build volume of 180 x 180 x 180 mm (7 x 7 x 7 in) [1-3, 8, 9].

Calibration

Here is the step-by-step calibration guide for the Original Prusa MINI+:

1. First-Layer Calibration

Navigate to LCD-menu -> Control -> Live Adjust Z while printing . Turn the knob counter-clockwise to bring the nozzle closer to the bed, moving the value into the negatives . The numeric value is unique to your machine depending on your SuperPINDA sensor height, but a common range is between -0.400 and -1.900 .

Heat Creep and Extrusion Failure

• Symptom: The printer stops extruding mid-print, the extruder motor makes a "clicking" or "ticking" sound as it grinds the filament, layers tear, or under-extrusion occurs .
• Cause: Heat creep allows heat to travel up the hotend, softening the filament too early and creating a clog [3, 4]. This is common with PLA in warm rooms (>35°C) or enclosures.
