Achieving accurate and reliable prints on the Modix V3 BIG-180X requires following this eight-step engineering calibration guide:

• Thermal Equilibrium Pre-Heating:

Before starting any leveling or calibration routine, heat the bed to your target temperature (e.g., 60°C for PLA, 100°C for ABS) and wait 30 to 45 minutes. The 1.8-meter aluminum plate undergoes significant thermal expansion, which changes its flatness profile as it heats up.

• Hardware defects and mechanical weaknesses
• Filament Friction in Long PTFE Guide Tubes: The filament spool is mounted on the side of the frame, requiring a very long PTFE tube to guide the filament to the direct-drive extruder. The tube bends during printing, generating friction that can cause under-extrusion when the tool head is furthest from the spool.
