Textured PEI requires cleaning to maintain adhesion. Wipe down the steel sheet with isopropyl alcohol (IPA) using a lint-free cloth when the bed is cold.

• Expected result: A clean surface that provides strong PLA adhesion.

Common defects

• Hardware defects and mechanical weaknesses
• Clogging in the Y-Splitter Chamber:
• Symptoms: The extruder motors click, filament fails to feed or retract, and printing stops mid-layer.
• Cause: During tool change retraction, a stringy tail (bulbous tip) can form on the end of the hot filament. When this tip cools inside the Y-splitter, it jams, blocking the second filament.
• Solution: Adjust tool change temperatures and speed.
