The KLEMA 180 is an FDM 3D printer from KLEMA with a 180 x 180 x 220 mm build volume.

Specifications

The KLEMA 180 is a professional, high-precision enclosed FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) 3D printer designed and manufactured by the Ukrainian brand KLEMA (in collaboration with 3D Device). Engineered to serve as a reliable industrial workhorse in a compact desktop format, this printer is capable of continuous operation with over 40 types of technical filaments. It is distinguished by its robust 2mm sheet steel structural enclosure and high-precision motion kinematics.

  • Hotend: The printhead features a Direct Drive extrusion system with a high gear reduction ratio for precise volumetric flow control.

Calibration

Follow this calibration cookbook to align the gantry and optimize prints on the KLEMA 180:

  • H-Bot Gantry Squaring (XY Orthogonality): H-Bot kinematics use a single long belt to control both X and Y axes. If the belt is unevenly tensioned or the frame twists, the X-axis can skew relative to the Y-axis. Place a precision square between the X-axis rail and the Y-axis rails. Adjust the tension on both ends of the belt using the rear tensioner screws until the angle is exactly 90.0°.

Common defects

  • Hardware defects and mechanical weaknesses
  • H-Bot Gantry Racking: The H-Bot belt routing configuration can introduce a twisting torque on the X-axis carriage during sudden accelerations. Over time, this racking force can cause wear on the Y-axis linear rails and carriage play. Fix: Regularly verify belt tension, keep the toolhead assembly as light as possible, and replace the Y-axis carriages if play is detected.

What it is used for

Best use-cases

  • Technical Parts in ABS, ASA, and Nylon: The fully enclosed steel chassis and stable chamber temperature make it well-suited for functional components, enclosures, and gears without warping.
  • High-Precision Small Parts: The 1.25 µm positioning accuracy and linear rails allow for printing detailed threads, mechanical fits, and small assemblies.
