Calibration

Calibration of the HP Jet Fusion 5000

• Scanner calibration: Run after every 50–100 build cycles and always after upgrading the build unit. Target accuracy: ±0.1 mm.
• Temperature profile: Verify at material changes. PP requires a higher pre-heat temperature than PA 12: skipping this step is a common cause of browning.
• Printhead check: With the 5000's typical ~2 cycles/week rhythm, nozzles can dry out between sessions. Run a check at every system startup.

Common defects

Common Defects on the HP Jet Fusion 5000

Browning on PP: Switching from PA to PP without updating the IR temperature profile → surface charring. Fix: update the IR profile for PP.

Porosity from infrequent use: Dried nozzles at 2-cycle/week operation → micro-voids. Fix: printhead check before every build cycle.

Warping: More pronounced at the 250 mm Z-height for large flat parts → distortion. Fix: orient at an angle; allow full cooling to < 35 °C before opening.
