Display / Optics

The Saturn 4 Ultra 16K uses a 10-inch monochrome LCD at 15,120 × 6,230 pixels: highest resolution in its class at launch (January 2025). XY pixel size of 14 × 19 µm enables detail impossible on the previous 12K generation.

Tilt-Release and Speed

Identical mechanism to the 12K variant: vat tilting to reduce peel forces, with speeds up to ~140 mm/h.

Smart Resin Heating

Integrated heating maintains resin at 30 °C for optimal viscosity and first-layer adhesion, especially important for ABS-like and tough resins.

Flip-Up Lid

The hinged cover simplifies platform and vat removal without spill risk.

Smart Heating

In rooms below 20 °C, activate heating 8 minutes before printing: resin at 30 °C gives more predictable polymerization.

Exposure Test (16K specific)

Use a 16K-specific exposure test or rescale existing ones. Target 1.8–2.5 s normal exposure. Keep anti-aliasing at level 1 or off for maximum detail.

Residue Sensor

Check resin level before every print; the alarm means add resin immediately.

Ghosting / Halos

At 14 µm pixels, over-exposure is visible even at +0.2 s. Reduce normal exposure and anti-aliasing level.

Stuck to Vat

Main cause: cold resin. Enable Smart Heating; reduce bottom layers to 4–5.

Z-Scale Error

Inspect and lubricate the Z-leadscrew with PTFE spray periodically.

Unresolved Walls < 0.3 mm

Physical resin limitation; design with a 0.3 mm minimum wall thickness.
