The HALOT-MAGE S is an LCD 3D printer from Creality with a 223 x 126 x 230 mm build volume.

Light Engine

The HALOT-MAGE S uses a 10.1-inch 14K (13320×5120) monochrome LCD at 16.8×24.8 µm XY pixel pitch: among the finest desktop MSLA panels available in 2024, comparable in resolution to production DLP machines such as the ETEC D4K (25 µm) and Rapid Shape D30+.

Pictor Release System

Pictor is a specialised low-vacuum release layer (similar to nFEP but with optimised UV transmission and anti-adhesion surface) enabling up to 170 mm/h vertical build speed with reduced peel forces. It is the key differentiator versus standard FEP competitors.

Automatic Levelling

Activate Auto-Level before first use and after any platform change. Perform a visual check after the procedure.

Bottom Exposure for 14K

Start with 40–60 s Bottom Exposure (6 base layers) for standard resins; for high-speed resins follow the manufacturer's specification (typically 20–35 s).

Pictor Film Inspection

Inspect the Pictor film before every batch. Replace immediately if bubbles, cracks, or hazy clouding appear. Clean only with a soft silicone spatula.

Common defects

Suction Cupping at High Speed

At 170 mm/h Lift Speed, vacuum forces are amplified: tilt wide parts 45° and reduce Lift Speed for large cross-sections.

Undercure with Standard Resins

Standard resins are not reliably cured at <2 s exposure: use high-speed resins for maximum throughput.

Blooming on Thin Walls

At 16.8 µm pixel pitch, over-polymerisation on thin walls (<0.3 mm) is a risk: enable AA Level 8 and reduce Normal Exposure Time.
