The Creality Ender-6 stands as one of Creality's first ventures into the CoreXY motion system, designed to bridge the gap between low-cost hobbyist DIY printers and high-end industrial systems. The mechanical heart of the Ender-6 is its rigid cube-style enclosure made of sturdy 2020 and 2040 V-slot aluminum extrusions. In a CoreXY configuration, two long timing belts cooperate to move the toolhead in the X and Y dimensions. The two stepper motors driving these belts are stationary, mounted directly onto the rear corners of the frame. Because the print head carriage does not carry the weight of the heavy stepper motors, the moving mass is substantially reduced.
Tuning a CoreXY printer like the Ender-6 requires careful alignment of the dual-belt system and balancing of the cantilevered bed to prevent geometric skewing.
