The Creality Ender-5 Plus was introduced in late 2019 as the largest and most capable model in the cube-frame Ender-5 series. It was designed to fill the market niche for affordable, large-format desktop 3D printing, offering a structural alternative to the CR-10 series. Because the heated bed only moves vertically along the Z-axis, the Ender-5 Plus handles tall and heavy prints with ease, preventing the wobbling and print detachment issues common on traditional "bed-slinger" designs.

• Hotend: Equipped with a Bowden-style hotend utilizing an MK8 heater block (24V DC, 40W). The maximum operating temperature is software-limited to 260°C.

Calibration

To extract the best performance and ensure consistent leveling on the large-format Creality Ender-5 Plus, follow these 8 calibration steps:

• Z-axis Lead Screw Synchronization: Because the printer uses two Z lead screws powered by independent stepper motors, the screws can drift out of sync when the motors are powered off, causing the bed frame to tilt from left to right.
• Expected result: A perfectly level bed relative to the left and right sides of the frame.

Common defects

• Hardware defects and mechanical weaknesses
• Loud Stepper Motor Whine (A4988 Drivers): The stock 8-bit motherboard uses noisy A4988 drivers, making the machine extremely loud during long prints.
• Solution: Upgrade to the Creality Silent Mainboard (TMC2208 drivers) or a third-party 32-bit controller board (e.g., BIGTREETECH SKR).
