Calibration

  • Start with a mechanical sanity check before any software tuning.

Action: Power the printer off and inspect all visible fasteners, the bed carriage, the X gantry, the spool holder, and the cable chain or cable loops for play, friction, or shipping looseness. Verify that the frame sits flat on the table and does not rock. Move the axes by hand with the machine unpowered: the bed should traverse smoothly along Y, and the X carriage should move without binding across the gantry.

Common defects

  • Manual leveling remains essential despite “assisted” leveling claims.

Symptoms: First-layer inconsistency across the bed, one corner too close, another too far, or a center that prints differently from the edges.

Cause: Review material indicates an inductive sensor or assisted leveling feature, but the printer still relies on manual corner adjustment for final accuracy rather than a modern full mesh system .
