The Raise3D N2 Dual is an FDM 3D printer from Raise3D with a 305 x 305 x 305 mm build volume.

Specifications

The Raise3D N2 Dual is a historically and structurally significant professional FDM 3D printer launched in 2016 following a highly successful crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. This model laid the groundwork for Raise3D's global success, establishing the brand as a leader in large-format enclosed dual-extruder systems by combining a massive chassis, precise mechanics, and an early-generation intelligent touch interface.

Hotend and Extruder

The printer is equipped with a dual extruder sharing a single print carriage (Dual Extruder, Single Carriage).

Calibration

To achieve high accuracy and reliable dual-extrusion performance on the Raise3D N2 Dual, follow this calibration sequence:

  • Manual Bed Leveling (Bed Tramming):

Heat the bed to 60°C and let it sit for 15 minutes. Use a 0.20 mm metal feeler gauge. Verify nozzle clearance relative to the BuildTak sheet at 9 positions (corners, midpoints, and center). Adjust the leveling screws under the bed until you feel light drag on the gauge.

Common defects

  • Hardware defects and mechanical weaknesses
  • Idle Nozzle Oozing: Because both nozzles share a head and print at the same Z-height, the idle nozzle will drool molten plastic onto the active model. Solution: Use "Ooze Shield" or "Wipe Tower" in ideaMaker and set the inactive extruder to cool down by 15-20°C during standby.
  • Motherboard Overheating in Bottom Compartment: The mainboard is housed in the bottom of the printer chassis where airflow is passive.

What it is used for

Recommended Applications

  • Large-Scale ABS and ASA Prototypes: The enclosed chamber and 110°C bed allow the production of large structural enclosures without cracking or warping.
  • Dual-Color Graphic Prints: Excellent for printing warning signs, multi-colored logos, and visual aids in a single plane.
