Technology and Laser System

The NXG XII 600 uses L-PBF (Laser Powder Bed Fusion) with 12 independent 1 kW fiber lasers (12 kW total power) at 1070 nm. Each laser has an independent galvo scanner covering the full platform area without stitching zones: a unique patented thermal concept eliminates seam lines even when all 12 lasers operate simultaneously.

Build Volume

600 × 600 × 600 mm: a 216-liter cube providing space for complete aerospace sections, automotive subframes, or dense nesting of hundreds of small parts.

Calibration

1. 600 × 600 mm Platform Leveling

Precision laser interferometry or multi-point measurement: deviation ≤ 0.05 mm. With 12 lasers, even a small error leads to non-uniform density across different platform zones.

2. 12-Laser Calibration and Stitching-Free Setup

Individual calibration of each of the 12 lasers; synchronization for full coverage without seam lines.

Common defects

Seam Lines from Laser Degradation

When power or focus of any of the 12 lasers drifts, overlap zones become visible. Regular (monthly) power checks for each laser are mandatory; isolate and recalibrate the defective laser immediately.

Porosity at Speed Limits

At maximum speed, the full-fusion window is narrow. Follow validated parameter windows; do not exceed recommended values; run CT testing at any new parameter set.

Distortion in Massive Parts.
