Uniqueness: The only MJF system for white parts: HP 3D HR PA 12 W powder produces naturally white, undyed parts without post-processing.

Calibration

Calibration of the HP Jet Fusion 5420W

• Scanner calibration for PA 12 W: PA 12 W has different optical reflectance from standard PA 12. Recalibration is mandatory at material changes. Target accuracy: ±0.1 mm.
• Temperature profile: PA 12 W is sensitive to overheating and yellows under excessive IR temperature. Work at the lower end of the thermal window; verify the IR profile before each campaign.

Common defects

Common Defects on the HP Jet Fusion 5420W

Yellowing: Thermal degradation of PA 12 W from overheating or low refresh rate → white parts develop a yellow tint. Fix: reduce IR lamp temperature; increase refresh rate to at least 30%.

Surface contamination: Residual gray PA 12 powder or agent contamination → gray/brown spots on white parts. Fix: full system cleaning when switching from gray PA 12 to PA 12 W.

Porosity: Clogged nozzles or insufficient agent dose → micro-voids.
