Calibration

Calibration of the HP Jet Fusion 5210

• Scanner calibration: Run the automatic alignment procedure every 50–100 build cycles or when edge sharpness degrades. Expected result: deviation < ±0.1 mm.
• IR lamp temperature profile: The built-in thermal camera monitors continuously. Manual verification is recommended at material changes: PA 12 and TPU require different profiles. Target uniformity: ±2 °C.
• Printhead check: Print a test page before critical production runs.

Common defects

Common Defects on the HP Jet Fusion 5210

Browning: Excessive agent dose or IR lamp overheating causes surface charring: parts appear dark brown. Fix: check the temperature profile and reduce the fusing agent dose by 5–10%.

Porosity: Insufficient agent dose or uneven powder layer leaves micro-voids in the cross-section, reducing strength. Fix: run a printhead check, increase agent dose, and reduce recoater speed.
