Technology and Resolution

Multi Jet Fusion with 1200 dpi XY agent deposition; minimum layer 80–100 µm. The process is identical to the 4200: Fusing Agent + Detailing Agent + IR lamp; the difference is fewer nozzle passes per layer (in the 3200), resulting in lower throughput.

Build Volume

380 × 284 × 380 mm: exactly the same as the 4200 series. The 3200 can build equally large single parts; only the parallel production speed is lower.

Throughput

35,000 mm³/h (3200) vs 45,000 mm³/h (4200): approximately 22% slower under equivalent conditions. A full build takes ~14 hours vs ~11 hours for the 4200.

Calibration

Calibration: HP Jet Fusion 3D 3200

• Build Unit loading: PA12 at 80/20 refresh ratio in the Processing Station. With the 3200's lower throughput meaning fewer jobs per unit time, monitor when fresh powder was last added and do not exceed the recommended refresh.
• FA and DA check: standard >10% level check. On a less frequently used machine (typical for prototyping services), cartridges may partially dry: replace DA especially if in doubt.

Gray surface finish (technology characteristic)

Identical to 4200: black FA. For white: HP JF 5420W; for color: post-processing.

Warping on long jobs

Slower carriage means larger thermal difference between early and late-fused zones. Fix: orient flat parts vertically; use thermal walls on overnight jobs.

Dimensional deviation

Systematic +0.3 to +0.8 mm in X/Y: identical to 4200. Fix: scaling in SmartStream.

Agent bleeding.
