The K1 is an FDM 3D printer from Creality with a 220 x 220 x 250 mm build volume.

Specifications

Hotend: The K1 features a direct drive "Sprite" extruder that can reach a maximum temperature of 300°C [1, 2].

Bed: It utilizes a coated steel flex plate on a heated bed capable of reaching up to 100°C [3, 4].

Chamber: The printer features a chamber cooling fan equipped with an algorithm that automatically triggers and controls the fan based on the internal chamber temperature .

Build Volume: The maximum build area is 220 x 220 x 250 mm (8.6 x 8.6 x 9.84 inches) .

Kinematics: The machine utilizes a CoreXY motion system, meaning the toolhead moves along the X and Y axes while the print bed moves vertically along the Z-axis [1, 2, 6].

Calibration

1. Bed Leveling & First-Layer (Z-Offset) Calibration

  • Step 1: Clean your build plate with 90%+ Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) to remove oils [1, 2].
  • Step 2: Run the printer's automatic self-inspection, which includes Auto Bed Leveling and Input Shaping, to generate a fresh bed mesh [1, 3].
  • Step 3: Print a single-layer test print (e.g., a 50x50mm square) [4, 5].
