FGF (Fused Granulate / Pellet Extrusion)

large-scale FDM. pellets instead of filament. 10× cheaper material: used for furniture, boats, tooling.

FGF (Fused Granulate Fabrication) or pellet extrusion: material extrusion with a screw-driven extruder fed by polymer pellets (the same feedstock as injection molding). Part size: 1–10 m³.

Pellets are 5–10× cheaper than filament (€2–8/kg vs €15–80/kg). For large-format prints (furniture, boats, molds, composite tooling) FGF is the only economically viable option. Throughput up to 50 kg/h.
