The Sinterit Lisa Pro is a professional desktop 3D printer utilizing Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) technology. Developed by the Polish manufacturer Sinterit, this printer represents a significant step in making industrial SLS technology accessible to small-to-medium businesses, research labs, and universities. By sintering polymer powder layer by layer, it creates highly accurate, durable, and structurally complex parts without the need for sacrificial support structures, as the unsintered powder in the build chamber serves as continuous support during printing.

Calibration

Operating an SLS printer like the Lisa Pro requires careful calibration of temperatures, laser optics, and powder handling systems to achieve consistent results:

• Pyrometer Sensor Calibration and Lens Cleaning

The non-contact infrared sensor (pyrometer) monitors the powder surface temperature. If its protective lens becomes coated with polymer outgassing residues, it will underestimate the surface temperature, causing the heaters to overheat the powder bed.

Common defects

• Hardware defects and mechanical weaknesses
• Recoater Drawstring Cord Wear and Breakage: The recoater carriage is pulled across the bed by a thin metal cord. Due to exposure to high temperatures and abrasive polymer powders, the cord can fray and break over time.
• Symptom: The recoater roller stops moving mid-chamber, the laser turns off, and the print job halts.
