AutoTowers, calibration towers in minutes, not hours
Perfect print settings are not guessed, they are measured. AutoTowers builds a temperature, retraction, speed, acceleration or K-factor tower for you, with the height changes already built in, so you print once and read the best segment off the part.
Pro plan, 15 EUR/month. Pick a tower type, set a range, and download a ready PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer, Cura or STL/3MF file. How it works
Three inputs, and the file comes back with the height changes already built in.
Pick a tower type
Choose a temperature tower or another calibration test built for your material, for example retraction, speed, acceleration or K-factor (linear advance).
Set the range
Enter a range, such as 220 to 180C in 5 degree steps. AutoTowers works out how many segments fit and how tall each one needs to be, automatically.
Download and print
Get a ready PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer or Cura project, or a plain STL/3MF file. Print it once and read the best looking segment off the part as your setting.
Works with
Export straight into the slicer you already use, or fall back to a universal mesh.
Why AutoTowers
You are not guessing at a setting, you are reading it off a print that already tested every option.
No manual G-code editing
Height based parameter changes are built into the exported file automatically, so you never edit a script to change temperature or speed partway up a print.
Five calibration tower types
Temperature, retraction, speed, acceleration and K-factor towers, all generated from the same range input for whatever material you are running.
Multiple export formats
Exports a ready PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer or Cura project so the tower drops straight into your existing workflow, or a universal STL/3MF file for any other slicer.
Judged by the print, not a forum post
You read the result off the printed tower, bridging, stringing, surface gloss, instead of copying someone else's settings and hoping they fit your printer.
Which tower tests which setting
Each tower isolates one parameter, so a defect on the print points at a single cause.
| Tower type | What it changes by height | What you're looking for |
|---|---|---|
| Temperature | Nozzle temperature per segment | Best bridging, stringing and surface gloss |
| Retraction | Retraction distance or speed per segment | Least stringing and blobbing at layer changes |
| Speed | Print speed per segment | Highest speed before quality visibly drops |
| Acceleration | Acceleration per segment | Highest acceleration before ringing or ghosting appears |
| K-factor | Linear advance (pressure advance) value per segment | Cleanest corners and the most consistent extrusion width |
Running one tower for one setting means a defect on the print has a single, traceable cause. Changing several settings on the same test object, or copying a settings pack from someone else's printer, only proves that print worked for them. It does not explain why yours does not.
Frequently asked questions
What is a temperature tower in 3D printing?
A temperature tower is a single print made of stacked segments, each printed at a different nozzle temperature that AutoTowers writes into the file automatically. After printing you inspect every segment for bridging, stringing and surface gloss, and the best looking one is the working temperature for that filament, not a number copied from a forum post.
Do I need to write G-code to change settings partway through a print?
No. Changing a setting partway up a print normally means editing G-code by hand or writing a slicer post-processing script. AutoTowers builds those height based changes into the exported project or STL automatically, so you only pick a tower type and a range, then download the result.
Which slicers does AutoTowers support?
AutoTowers exports ready project files for PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer and Cura. If you use a different slicer, or just want a plain mesh, it also exports a universal STL or 3MF file that works with any slicer that reads standard 3D printing formats.
What calibration towers can I generate with AutoTowers?
Temperature towers, plus retraction, speed, acceleration and K-factor (linear advance) towers. Each one isolates a single printer setting, so a defect you see on the finished tower points at one cause instead of several at once.
Can I use AutoTowers with filaments other than PLA?
Yes. AutoTowers works with PLA, PETG, ABS, TPU and any other filament, because you enter the temperature or setting range yourself instead of picking from a fixed material list. The tool then distributes that range across the tower's segments.
What does AutoTowers cost?
No, AutoTowers is part of the Pro plan (15 EUR/month). Once you have Pro, picking a tower type, entering a range and downloading the finished project or STL/3MF file are all included. You still need your own filament and printer time to actually run the test and read the result.
