DIW (Direct Ink Writing)

extrusion of non-melt pastes and gels. ceramics, concrete, food, drug, bio-tissue. studio printers.

DIW (Direct Ink Writing) is a material extrusion variant in which the extruder deposits a viscous paste (ink) without melting. The deposit solidifies via drying, UV cure, thermal cure, or chemical reaction.

When the material cannot be melted (ceramics, concrete, hydrogel, food, biology) but can be formulated as an ink with proper rheology: DIW is the only option. Enables true multi-material functional gradients.
