What a QR code generator is and what it encodes
A QR code generator turns a link, text or other data into a QR code: a square picture that a phone camera reads. This one from EduFacturing is free and needs no sign up: you pick the content, see the code at once and download PNG or SVG.
There are six kinds of content: a link, text, a WiFi network, a phone number, an email and a contact card (vCard). The code holds your content itself, not a redirect through our server, so it has no expiry date.

For WiFi: the network name, password and security (WPA/WPA2, WEP or open), and an option for a hidden network. For a contact card: name, phone, email and company.
Sets how the code looks
Size from 128 to 512 px, error correction L, M, Q or H, dot and background colours, a margin of 0 to 8 modules and your own logo in the centre.
Downloads PNG or SVG
PNG suits printing and sharing. SVG is a vector that scales without loss, but it has no logo.

QR code data limits and error correction levels L, M, Q, H
Three steps: the fields become one text, the counter checks how much data fits, the code is drawn and downloaded.
The content becomes one text
A link and text are encoded as they are. WiFi, a phone number, an email and a vCard 3.0 contact card each get their own format.
The counter measures bytes
It shows characters and bytes (a Cyrillic letter is 2 bytes) against the maximum for the level, and suggests a lower level on overflow.
The code is drawn and downloaded
The PNG is the picture from the preview. The SVG is built again from the same content, without the logo and with the slider's margin (4 by default).

It continues to a 3D model

The code is static: it does not track scans, does not shorten addresses and cannot be redirected after printing. It does not check that the link works or the contrast between colours: a light code on a dark background may not scan. Scan the print with two phones.
The SVG has no logo but keeps the slider's margin (4 modules by default). A batch takes size, colours, correction and margin from the settings, without a logo. Beyond the capacity no code is made: for ordinary text at M the maximum is 2331 bytes, while digits only fit more. With very many modules the PNG is larger than the chosen size; only the preview says by how much.
