Euro pallet dimensions and 3D model: EUR-EPAL, EUR2, EUR6 and custom
Pick EUR-EPAL, EUR2, half-size EUR6 or a custom pallet, set the boards and blocks, and get a four-layer 3D model you can download as STL or 3MF. On EUR-EPAL the check compares the size with 1200×800×144 mm.

What the Euro pallet dimensions show
This is a free online tool from EduFacturing that builds a parametric 3D model of a block pallet from the dimensions you set. There are four types: the EUR-EPAL (EUR1) Euro pallet at 1200×800, the industrial EUR2 at 1200×1000, the half-size EUR6 at 800×600, and a custom pallet with open dimensions.
The model has four layers, from the bottom up: bottom boards running lengthwise, nine blocks in a 3×3 grid, three cross boards on top of the blocks, and a deck of boards running lengthwise. At the EUR-EPAL defaults this is the build of the EPAL 1 pallet: 9 blocks and 11 boards. The nine blocks leave four-way fork entry.
Euro pallet dimensions and a 3D model as STL and 3MF
Builds four pallet types
EUR-EPAL 1200×800, EUR2 1200×1000, EUR6 800×600 and Custom. The Euro pallets can be changed within narrower limits, while Custom has a length of 300 to 1600 mm and a width of 300 to 1400 mm.
Sets the boards and blocks
Board thickness, block height and width, the number of top boards and of bottom boards. Pallet height is 3 · board thickness + block height.
Checks the Euro pallet size
Shows the overall size and, on EUR-EPAL, says whether it is 1200×800×144 mm. Warns when there are fewer than 4 top boards.
Gives a 3D model for printing
Download STL or 3MF. One of 8 materials changes the colour of the model and the material note, not the dimensions.
When you need a Euro pallet 3D model
The construction of a pallet is easiest to grasp layer by layer.
A logistics lesson
A teacher shows the layers and how 3 · 22 + 78 = 144 mm gives the height of a Euro pallet.
A warehouse mock-up
A warehouse team prints scaled-down pallets to lay out a model warehouse or a display. EUR6 is the display pallet.
An organiser
A scaled-down pallet becomes an insert for a drawer: the Custom mode gives the exact size of the pocket.
A non-standard pallet
A designer uses Custom for an in-house pallet or a mock-up at an exact size.
How the 144 mm height comes about and what the check does
The dimensions build four layers, and the check is calculated from the same numbers.
Dimensions
You set the length L, the width W, the board thickness, the block size and the number of top and bottom boards. EUR-EPAL starts from 1200×800, 22 mm boards and a 78 mm block.
Layers
The top deck is made of evenly spaced boards. The bodies of the layers are combined with CSG in the browser.
Check
The height is H = 3 · t + h. EUR-EPAL is compared with 1200×800×144 mm, and a top deck under 4 boards raises a warning.
Load figures
The load figures are fixed for the pallet type and are not calculated from the boards and material; apart from EUR-EPAL they are a guide.
| Applies to | Formula | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Height | H = 3 · t + h | t is the board thickness, h is the block height; EPAL: 3 · 22 + 78 = 144 mm |
| Conformity with EUR-EPAL | L = 1200, W = 800, |H − 144| < 2 mm | otherwise the check flags a non-standard pallet |
| Top deck | top boards < 4 → warning | a sparse deck: a point load can fall through |
| EUR-EPAL load | gross load ≤ 1500 kg | a rule in the EduFacturing core that cites EPAL and EN 13698-1; fixed, not calculated from the boards |
Four layers as on EPAL 1, and plain about printing
Four layers, as on EPAL 1
At the EUR-EPAL defaults the model is built like EPAL 1: 9 blocks and 11 boards in four layers, not simplified to three.
Plain about printing
The check says outright that a printed pallet is a mock-up, not a load-bearing pallet.
The tool does not calculate load capacity: the load figures are fixed for the pallet type. For EUR-EPAL the 1500 kg comes from a rule in the EduFacturing rules core that cites the EPAL technical specification (2020) and EN 13698-1. The loads the tool shows for the other types are a guide; for loading to the standard, see the EPAL data sheet. Only EUR-EPAL is checked against a standard size: EUR2, EUR6 and Custom are not.
The model is simplified: boards are plain slabs without chamfers, blocks are boxes, and there are no nailed joints. A printed pallet is a mock-up for teaching, display and organisers. A real one is wooden, about 25 kg, or injection-moulded plastic.
Euro pallet dimensions, weight and load questions
What are the dimensions of a Euro pallet?
The EUR-EPAL (EUR1) is 1200×800 mm and 144 mm high. The EUR2 is 1200×1000, and the half-size EUR6 is 800×600. Only EUR-EPAL is checked against a standard size.
How heavy is a Euro pallet?
A real Euro pallet is wooden and weighs about 25 kg, or it is injection-moulded plastic. A pallet printed as STL or 3MF is a mock-up for teaching, display or an organiser.
How much weight can a Euro pallet hold?
For EUR-EPAL the tool shows 1500 kg, from a rule in the EduFacturing core that cites EPAL. The figure is fixed for the type, not a calculation from the boards. For the other types the figures are a guide: for loading to the standard, see the EPAL data sheet.
How many boards are in a Euro pallet?
Four layers: bottom boards, nine 3×3 blocks, three cross boards and a top deck. At the EUR-EPAL defaults that is 9 blocks and 11 boards, as on EPAL 1.
How tall is a Euro pallet?
144 mm, from H = 3 · t + h: 3 · 22 + 78 = 144 mm. The tool uses the same formula for other values.
Can I print a pallet that carries a load?
No. A printed pallet is a mock-up for teaching, display or an organiser, as STL or 3MF.
